Deuteronomy is last of the 5 books written by Moses, and one of the most quoted book in New testament,195 times. Deuteronomy was a book Jesus quoted many times. Deuteronomy describes the final preparations to go into Canaan and the destinations through faithfulness of God. The law given before is given in detail as a second law – and that is the meaning of Deuteronomy, for the new generation to reiterate since they grew up in the wilderness and to get them ready for the new experience in a new land, which is the promised land of milk and honey of Canaan.. It is a new revelation of God`s love.

He has brought Israel out with spiritual Canaan like Christ takes out into the spiritual everlasting life.

This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets
Although the children of Israel rebelled over and over and sinned against God, God kept his promise and still does with all his promises and covenants. the center of the message is also Obedience to God which is in many verses in Deuteronomy Chapter 4 and 5 4:1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
